I run Windows 7 on a virtual machine on my iMac. The program that the virtual machine is set up with is called VMware Fusion.
It has worked very well and flawlessly until the update yesterday. Now it's impossible to deal with.
Everything runs fine until I try to publish to my online MyHeritage site. The publishing progress bar gets to 10% each time then I get a popup runtime error that says:
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I should know better than to do new updates. Every time I do it, I run into problems retrieving or restoring my tree. EVERY TIME. Why can't it just update the program and your information stay in the tree. Why do we have to restore the info after every update?
I love this program. I love what it can do. I love it so much that I went to A LOT of extra expense to make sure I could run it on my Mac with no problems. I just wish the updates were easier and smoother. I have spent hours and hours trying to get back to normal operations after each of the last two updates. I'm still suffering this one.
When I go to my grandfather and attempt to add a sibling (great aunt or uncle), the option is grayed out. How can I add this option? I'm using the free version. Thank you.
I am maintaining my tree on-line. Until a few days ago, when I modified information about a person, this fact got recorded on the "Home" page as a statement: "FEC updated the details of XYZ." Suddenly a few days ago, MyHeritage stopped recording such changes. It now only records when I add a new person to the tree and/or when I upload a picture in tree mode. This is annoying, because multiple members of my website regularly update records, and I like to see when someone changed something. How can I bring this feature back?
Unfortunately not. When I add a new person to the tree, a message is displayed in the newsfeed. The same also happens when I upload a new picture. However, it no longer displays a message when I only change an existing entry, e.g. by adding a date of death, or correcting the birth date or something.
It used to do that, but stopped doing it about 2 weeks ago.
Hmm. It didn't work for several days, but when I tried to reproduce the problem a minute ago by temporarily changing my own date of birth, the software recorded that change just fine in the newsfeed.
Maybe the problem has meanwhile resolved itself. I'll get back with you when I see it happen again.
How can I change the calander to give me todays day in Australian time, we are well into Saturday and my calander still shows Friday. Birthday reminders show today but it was yesterday !! ground hog day ??
