The ID numbers for people in your tree in Family Tree Builder, are internal to the programming of the tree, and are not editable.
Please note that you may notice more ID numbers than people in the tree. The reason for this is ID numbers are not re-used when people are deleted. Therefore, ID numbers can exceed the actual number of individuals in the tree.
I installed the my heritage family tree builder and it has installed a search and toolbar. I have figured out how to get rid of it in firefox but can not do it in I. E. Any sugesstions would be so appreciated.
My friend has tried to register a dozen times, and now she gets the answer that this email is registered to another user... even though she never managed to complete her registration with a password and so on. So she can't log in. We want to remove the account and start all over again. Anybody knows how to do that?
I've been using this program for some years now, and never had any problems with it, but after I upgraded to premium, the people inn my tree starts to show up as mr. or mrs. "lastname", unknow "lastname" or just unknown when I'm trying to view the family tree in like the reports or diagrams. And likevise when publishing it on this webpage.
How can I fix this?
And is there a way to get a print out of everything I've writen in to the program, dates, places, notes, names etc?
I got 4 different trees I'm trying to get together to one, and the easiest way would have been to have printed all the info of one tree, and looked at the print out while writing in the info into another tree.
I have been having issues with the charts and reports and have sent three requests for help from the support team over the past 3 weeks with no response. I can no longer see the reports and select them and when printing the charts I get unreadable characters replacing the birth and death information.
Does anyone know if there are issues with the company that runs this site?
In my Family Tree, my grams had two husbands, in the first marrige she had a daughter, my mom, and in the second marrige she had 4 daughters, dispite being from a diferent father they are my aunts and their sons my cousins, but in the family tree their description is "Relative" but in the book report (PDF) they are describe as my aunts and cousins, can you corretct this, so they are describe as my aunts also in the family tree?
I have been locked out of my account for some time now. I have tried emailing admin several times but have had no response.
When I signed up for my account, It said I could have up to 500 or 1000 people on my tree. Now I am locked out with 356 people on my tree. I get emails constantly from the site updating me on my account but I can't even get into it. I signed up as a free account. I don't have a credit card and don't plan to make online purchases.
On top of the fact that I can't stop the emails, There is incorrect info on my site that cannot be corrected. I'd hate for this (false) info to go down in archives.
In my looking I have found this page which describes the lockout as a mistake. Can someone please correct this. I find it VERY unprofesional to take all my personal information and then lock me out of it, thus stealing my personal information.
When you start a basic family site at MyHeritage.com you can add up to 250 people in the tree. After that, you'll need to buy a subscription to continue adding people.
If you decide not to upgrade your family site, access to the site will be limited. However, we never delete your information and you can always get a copy of the tree on the Family Tree > Manage Trees page in order to edit the tree and bring it back within the site limit.
I opened your site for you temporarily so that you can edit the tree and access your site.
Why does FTB change the names of ancestors to a generic family name without first names. I already typed in the correct names, but somehow FTB wanted to change this. This is a bit annoying and time consuming, and is even making me lose information. Does this have anything to do with settings?
I'm not sure if I have the same problem. When I type in a name or place there is a auto finish function that is annoying with names. With places it is great but with names not so great. If I type in i.e "Johan Sebastian" and later try to add another plain "Johan" it will suggest "Johan Sebastian" and I have to delete Sebastian. Since I'm a poor typer I look at the keyboard when I type and I may miss the added Sebastian. It would be great to be able to switch the auto finish on/off for selected data fields.
Also when you add a new member to the family the program suggests the last name of father or child depending on whom you is adding a new person to. In Scandinavia the most common naming of persons before 1900 is taking the faders given name and then add "son/sen" or "dotter/datter" i.e Carl Larssons son will get Carlsson as last name and a daugter will get Carlsdotter. So to be able to switch off the last name suggestion would also be a time saver.
